"I will say more, France condemns any statements that might hamper or undermine the negotiation process for the settlement of this conflict," the ambassador said.
At the same time, Lacote urged to read once again the statement of the French Foreign Ministry on this issue, and in she future refer to it.
The French Foreign Ministry, expressing its position on Aliyev's statement, in particular, stressed: "France is still fully committed to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict through negotiations. We call on the parties to the conflict to work in this direction in good faith and to refrain from any statements or actions that could lead to an exacerbation of tension."
Azeri President made a claim to Yerevan at the 6th congress of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) in early February, calling it the historic Azeri territory.
