ArmInfo. The Prime Minister of Armenia will receive the right to grant special status to persons of foreign states. Amendments to the law "On Aliens" were adopted at the meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on March 7 in the first reading.
Presenting the draft law, deputy chief of the RA Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan noted that the need for amendments is conditioned by constitutional amendments. Currently, the President has the right to grant a special status or refusal to grant this status. After the constitutional reforms, it became necessary to amend the existing law "On Aliens", according to which the right to grant a special status passes to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. At the same time, the law removes the provision according to which, in case of refusal to grant a special status, a person did not have the right to appeal this decision.
