ArmInfo. The chairman of the "Orinats Yerkir" party was re- elected Artur Baghdasaryan at its 15th congress.
In his welcoming speech, Baghdasaryan said that the "Orinats Yerkir" party, which was part of the "Armenian Renaissance" party, is returning to its origins, as the political forces that are part of the AB announced its withdrawal from it.
Baghdasaryan admitted that over the years he and his force had made a number of mistakes. "But these mistakes were not fatal, we have always been honest in our efforts to improve the situation in Armenia," Baghdasaryan assured.
According to him, because of the total sale of votes in the elections in Armenia, today the political system is in a collapse. "Today in Armenia, if you have money, you are a person, otherwise you can not consider yourself a human being, so today we have a demoralized society that has lost faith in the future, ready to leave for good, at any opportunity," Baghdasaryan said.
He also did not accept charges against the opposition. According to him, strong opposition can exist only with a sound political system.
Speaking about foreign policy, Baghdasaryan considered realistic the resumption of hostilities in the zone of the Karabakh conflict, taking into account the militaristic threats of Baku. "And all this against the backdrop of the political and economic isolation of Armenia," he said. Baghdasaryan assured that the party will continue to raise issues of concern to the public and closely monitor the political processes in the country. In turn, OE Deputy Speaker Aghine Bisharyan stated that the rating system of voting, the total use of administrative resources and the distribution of pre-election bribes prevented the party's success in the parliamentary elections held in 2017. Despite the fact that the OE did not enter the parliament following the results of the 2017 elections, the party, according to Bisharyan, has a weighty place in the country's political field. She stressed that even without being in parliament, the OE will continue to struggle against the injustice that reigns in the country. "We have no right to leave the people to their fate," Bisharyan concluded.
