ArmInfo.Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony of the research center for aerial robotics at the Polytechnic University of the country.
As the RA leader's press office reports, Sargsyan got acquainted with the center's capabilities, which laid the foundation for RPAS (Remotely Pilted Aircrafts) designing and developing and training highly qualified personnel.
The center is intended to improve the quality of engineering education organization, to promote the introduction and development of promising areas of training aimed at strengthening the country's defense, and to promote the implementation of various modern research programs by young scientists and students of various higher educational institutions.
The President of Armenia was also informed that the research center is equipped with motion detectors and corresponding software of the world famous English company "Vikon". A similar center exists at the University of Illinois in the US, led by one of the best specialists in the theory of adaptive management, Armenian professor Naira Ovakimyan, who also provides advice and support to the Research Center for Onboard Robotics.
