ArmInfo. Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, member of the Armenia-Kazakhstan friendship group Mikael Melkumyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Timur Urazaev.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Melkumyan noted with satisfaction that the deputy groups of friendship play a significant role in the fruitful development of the Armenian-Kazakh inter-parliamentary relations. Issues related to interparliamentary and economic ties, development of communications and, especially, opportunities and ways of increasing trade turnover between the Republic of Armenia and Kazakhstan were discussed during the meeting.
Both sides stressed the importance of organizing Armenian-Kazakh business forums. According to the interlocutors, the solution of logistics tasks is especially important in the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries. The parties also turned to cooperation and mutually beneficial work on international parliamentary platforms. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was touched upon. Ambassador Urazaev noted that his country in this matter has a balanced and constructive approach and promotes the process of peaceful settlement of the problem.
