ArmInfo. The pre-election meetings of the presidential candidate from the Republican Party of Armenia, RA Ambassador to Great Britain Armen Sargsyan continue - today he held consultations with the members of the Armenian National Congress party, days earlier the leader of the Heritage party.
In the course of the meeting, the ANC representatives, in particular, stated that Armenia faces serious challenges: the unresolved Karabakh conflict, growing migration, total corruption, and the absence of an institution for democratic elections. Members of the ANC also stressed that after the "falsification" of the 2015 constitutional referendum, an illegitimate, authoritarian system of government that is unaccountable to the people was established in Armenia. Participants of the meeting assured that the parliament, formed on the basis of rigged elections in 2017, is also illegitimate. "Consequently, the president elected by an illegitimate parliament can not be legitimate, and nominating him for president in view of the current realities means promoting an illegal regime and its unconstitutional actions," ANC members said. Nevertheless, the participants of the meeting expressed confidence that one day the Karabakh problem will be resolved and a legitimate power will reign in Armenia. During the meeting with Raffi Hovhannisyan, the latter wished Armen Sargsyan good luck in the implementation of the forthcoming plans, as well as long years of service to his country and people. Tomorrow Sargsyan's meeting with the Heritage will take place.
