ArmInfo. Candidate for presidency of Armenia from the ruling Republican Party, RA Ambassador to Great Britain Armen Sargsyan held a meeting with members of the Public Council of the Republic.
During the meeting, the head of the Council Vazgen Manukyan noted that if Armen Sargsyan is elected, he will succeed in forming an atmosphere of trust in the country. "If there is no atmosphere of trust in the country, creative forces leave people," he said. Manukyan also noted that taking into account the great ties abroad Sargsyan, if elected, will succeed in creating all-Armenian structures and consolidating the potential of the Armenian people. In turn, Armen Sargsyan expressed hope that the transition to a parliamentary form of government will create prerequisites for the development of Armenia.
He also noted that the proper use of the president's powers would benefit Armenia and the Armenian people. He also assured that in case of his election he would closely cooperate with the Public Council. During the meeting, Sargsyan presented his views on Armenia's diplomatic policy, effective governance of the republic, electoral processes, education issues, and ecology.
