ArmInfo. Despite a number of obstacles, the sphere of tourism in Artsakh has been successfully developing in recent years, as evidenced by the 40% growth of external tourism.
The State Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Araik Harutyunyan stated in a conversation with the ArmInfo correspondent, stressing that this indicator does not include a tourist flow from Armenia.
According to him, progress in the sphere is largely due to the development of infrastructures and services.Answering the question about the "black lists" of Azerbaijan and the recommendations of foreign ministries of some countries do not hamper the development of the tourism sector, the State Minister said: "This in many respects prevents the development of the sphere, otherwise the tourist flow to the republic would be many times greater, but we should find out the way out of the situation in the light of the prevailing realities, and if we analyze the indicators, we succeeded in many ways. However, after the April war the situation has deteriorated somewhat, but now the process has stabilized and is moving forward.
"Speaking about the resettlement program, Harutyunyan stressed that, as in past years, this issue remains the focus of attention of the Artsakh authorities." Capital construction programs are progressing rapidly in the regions of the republic, which should stimulate the process of resettlement. I should also note with satisfaction the positive demographic indicators. If in the years 2002-2007 in the republic about 2 thousand 100 children were born every year, then in 2007-2017 - about 2 thousand 600 ", - summed up the state minister.
