Corresponding amendments to the Water Code, the Laws on Wastes, On Flora and On Wildlife were adopted at a meeting of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on February 8 in the first reading.
According to the Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan, currently all legal regulations are adopted on the basis of government decisions, but the Constitution of the country requires legislative regulation of the sphere. In particular, the law will determine the methodology for calculating the volume of water releases. The same will apply to waste. The right to apply the methodology for maintaining the cadastre of flora and fauna is provided to the Ministry of Nature Protection and the Ministry of Agriculture.
