ArmInfo. The Armenian Parliament rejected the initiative of the opposition bloc Yelq to create a temporary parliamentary commission on ethics in connection with the incident on the attack of MP from the ruling Republican Party Artashes Geghamyan on the head of the Yelq faction Nikol Pashinyan.
In this connection, the deputy from the Yelq bloc Edmond Marukyan noted that by rejecting this initiative the ruling party, in fact, legalized fights and attacks in the parliament. "In fact, the RPA encourages an atmosphere of impunity in the parliament, and throughout the country as a whole," the lawmaker said.
The Yelq bloc has also initiated the collection of signatures to convene an extraordinary session of the parliament on raising the prices of essential goods in the republic. To convene an extraordinary meeting, the bloc needs 24 deputy signatures. The "Tsarukyan" bloc with the words of its vice-speaker Mikael Melkumian said that he is ready to join the initiative. "The government does not take any steps to reduce the prices of essential goods, even some cosmetic ones, in order to calm the society," Melkumyan said.
Let's note, that months earlier in the Armenian parliament there was a fight between Nikol Pashinyan and Artashes Geghamyan. After Pashinyan mentioned Geghamian in his sarcastic note, the latter in the foyer of the National Assembly attacked the oppositionist with fists.
