ArmInfo. On January 9, Ruben Sadoyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, had a working meeting with Ian C. Kelly, the US Ambassador to Georgia. Ambassador Sadoyan briefed his colleague on Armenia's foreign policy priorities, as well as presented in details the steps being undertaken towards that direction and the current developments.
According to the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia,Ruben Sadoyan presented to the US Ambassador the joint efforts exerted of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs for the advancement of the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Azerbaijan's destructive behavior, in contradiction to those efforts. In this regard Ian C. Kelly noted that he is well aware on the developments and presented his activities during his tenure as the US Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Within this context Ambassador Sadoyan also informed about the recent provocation by Azerbaijan along the Line of Contact with Artsakh which once again resulted in the death of an Armenian soldier.
Afterwards, Ruben Sadoyan touched upon the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the opportunities it has created.
The Ambassador of Armenia also presented Armenia's initiative policy in the fight against the crime of genocide and the active work carried out on international platforms in that direction.
Ambassador Sadoyan also spoke about the Summit of the International Organization of Francophonie to be held in Yerevan this October.
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues.
