ArmInfo.Azerbaijan looks positively at the proposal to expand the office of Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
Azerbaijani mass media report that on December 28 at a press conference dedicated to the results of 2017, said the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev.
He recalled that this issue was discussed during the current year and is reflected in the last statement of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. "We are positive about this proposal, but this process should be conducted in parallel with substantive and intensive negotiations aimed at resolving the conflict," Hajiyev said. Speaking in general about the Karabakh settlement, the representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry stated that in the second half of 2017 there was a revival in the negotiation process for the settlement of the conflict.
Recall that the agreement on expanding the mandate of the Kasprzyk office was reached at the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in 2016. However, the agreements have not yet been implemented due to Azerbaijan's refusal to approve the mandate of financing the office.
