ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian told Greek diplomats about Yerevan's approaches to Armenian-Turkish relations.
"I'm sure you will be interested in our approach to the Armenia-Turkey relations, as you know, the Armenian President initiated the normalization process of the Armenian-Turkish relations, which led to the signing of the Zurich protocols in 2009.
Nevertheless, to this day, these documents have not been ratified , since Turkey has put forward unreasonable preconditions that contradict the letter and spirit of the protocols. This document can not remain in hostage forever, which is why the Armenian president from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly stated that Yerevan recognizes the protocols as ineffective bubbled, as the absence of any positive development in their implementation, and the spring of 2018 we will meet without these protocols, " Nalbandian said during his speech at the Greek Foreign Ministry.
It should be noted that the Armenian-Turkish protocols were signed in Zurich on October 10, 2009. However, the protocols were never ratified by the parliaments of Armenia and Turkey, since Ankara constantly put forward preconditions for ratification. In this connection, the process of ratification of the protocols in the Armenian parliament was frozen by order of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. And in February 2015 they were withdrawn from parliament.
