ArmInfo. Hot debate at the international conference "Parliamentarians Against Drugs" in Moscow was held between the representatives of the Armenian and Azeri delegations.
Vice-Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafat Askerov did not miss the opportunity to speculate on the Artsakh issue once again, putting forward groundless charges against the Armenian side. In particular, the Azeri Vice Speaker tried to convince those present that, because of the fact that Artsakh is governed by the "uncontrolled separatist regime", drug trafficking can flourish there. Askerov again stated about the claims of Azerbaijan to Artsakh and on the solution of the conflict on the basis of the principle of the territorial integrity of states.
In reply to this, the Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov remarked: "I regret to state that once again we all witnessed another anti-Armenian rhetoric of the representatives of Azerbaijan, instead of inappropriate accusations against Armenia and Artsakh, it would not hurt their authors to read international reports about Azerbaijan, maybe then they will fall to the ground and realize the reality that reigns in their country." He also called on the authors of these absurd speeches about Artsakh and all foreign colleagues to visit Artsakh and get acquainted with the situation there. "We have nothing to hide, we are confident in ourselves, come, and you will be convinced in everything yourself - you will be convinced that the citizens of Artsakh are building a democratic, free and sovereign republic," the Armenian vice-speaker summed up. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Ali Larijani and other parliamentarians from 43 countries attended the conference.
