ArmInfo. The new Armenia-EU framework agreement is not directed against a third party. This was stated by the head of the European Union delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalsky, in an interview with the Resurrection Analytical Program of Azatutyun TV.
According to him, there is no provision in the agreement that can limit or negatively affect other countries cooperating with Armenia. "I can say more openly: we do not want to monopolize the positive results resulting from the successful implementation of this agreement." We believe that implementing the main provisions of this agreement will allow Armenia to have a stronger democracy, a higher level of the rule of law, strong courts, a predictable and fair business environment, equal conditions for doing business in the energy, transport and other spheres. Other partners of Armenia from this will only benefit, since this agreement is based on the interests of many. This is why I do not think there can be any suspicious things connected with the agreement, "the Ambassador said.
At the same time, he stated that anyone who read the agreement will agree that the EU does not pursue any one-sided benefits, the EU does not try to impose any specific agenda.
At the same time, he expressed the conviction that the official comments that followed from other countries after the signing of the agreement, including from Russia, indicate that this document is positive for Armenia, and that it as a sovereign state makes the right choice by making logical conclusions from the agreement. "The sovereign state makes the right choice, making logical conclusions from the agreement. "The EU is committed to cooperating with its neighbors, and the agreement with Armenia is part of our overall strategy, which aims to promote the emergence of stronger, prosperous and flexible neighbors, and there are no pitfalls in this agreement or in its applications. So, as I already said, we do not want to monopolize the positive results of the agreement and hope this will be appreciated by others, "Switalsky said.
