ArmInfo. There are no technical obstacles for signing a framework agreement between Armenia and the EU. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd" referring to the head of the EU delegation in Armenia Petr Svitalskogo.
"The EU delegation confirmed that the EU is ready to sign an agreement with Armenia," Switalski said.
It should be noted that on November 24 in Brussels, at the Eastern Partnership Summit of the EU, the signing of a new framework agreement Armenia-EU is planned. On March 21, 2017, Armenia and the EU initialed the Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership.
The Armenian President said at the end of August that there are no obstacles to signing an agreement on an expanded and comprehensive Armenia-EU partnership at the Eastern Partnership summit in November. He also noted that in 2013, when Armenia joined the Eurasian Economic Union, a number of media, especially foreign ones, tried to present this as a "one-night decision". "It was groundless and ridiculous, we were negotiating with both the Unified Energy System and the EU, since initially both sides said they did not interfere with each other, but what should we do when the European Union said it was interfering?" Sargsyan asked.
In his turn, the head of the EU delegation to Armenia Peter Switalski said on September 6 that the EU is preparing "ink and paper" for signing the agreement at the November summit of the Eastern Partnership in Brussels.
