ArmInfo. The issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement on the international agenda is one of the priorities for Russia. This was announced on November 16 during a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova, referring to the statement of former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza that in connection with the reduction of funding nay change the format of the American co-chairmanship in the OSCE Minsk Group, in particular, said: "There is nothing illogical here. This is a question for the American side. Everything looks logical, if there is less co-chairman, then the format will change. Will it be so, for what reasons: they do not have enough money? This, of course, is a new word in the American economy. But if money is not enough, this is a question for the American side, not for us. For Russia, the issue of the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement on the international agenda is one of the priority, because it is not just about our neighbors. For us, we are talking about the peoples with whom we are connected not simply with the formal side of international legal documents and commitments. We are connected by life, destiny. We had a common life, fate for decades, centuries. Therefore, for us, the issue of the Nagorno- Karabakh settlement is a priority. And the turns of American diplomacy, I think, should be commented on at the State Department," concluded Zakharova.
