ArmInfo. Head of the Chamber of Advocates Ara Zohrabyan considers the claim of 20 attorneys for the recognition of his diploma to be invalid in connection with combining studies at the university with the service in the army groundless and personified. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
The head of the Chamber of Advocates considers this claim unreasonable, since, while passing military service while studying at a university, he continued training on an individual schedule, taking all necessary examinations and tests during short-term leaves. According to Zohrabnyan, the Ministry of Defense and the Gladzor University, where he studied, can confirm his words. "And in 1999 I passed the final exams and got a diploma," the head of the Chamber of Advocates stressed.
"Tigran Atanesyan and others admit that this demand will lead to a scandal around the Chamber of Advocates, which is especially unpleasant, but that you do not, you are members of the Chamber of Advocates, and it will protect you," the statement said. In the postscript it appears that in the period from 1991 to 1999, many officials and deputies also combined higher education with military service.
It should be noted that recently lawyer Tigran Atanesyan wrote on his Facebook page that 20 lawyers filed a class action lawsuit on invalidating the diploma of the chairman of the Chamber of Advocates Ara Zohrabyan. The statement says that the authenticity of the diploma causes doubts in the lawyers, since during the years of training from 1994 to 1999, Ara Zohrabyan also managed to pass military service in the army, that is, he did not complete the entire course of study at the university. The lawyers' statement also notes: "This suit is directed not against a specific person, but is aimed at saving the profession of a lawyer in Armenia and creating the bases for its further rehabilitation".
