The Armenian Minister stressed that Armenia has developed close contacts with the European Union, and it intends to expand comprehensive cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. " EU is providing valuable assistance to the reforms implemented in our country, contributing to Yerevan's efforts for permanent development in such areas as the rule of law and the protection of human rights, the strengthening of democratic institutions, the improvement of the judicial system." I would like to highlight our cooperation in the context of elections in April this year ", the Armenian minister said and added that the EU assistance also covers different spheres of the economy, including energy, transport, agriculture and other.
According to him, several of these areas are of regional importance, for example, the modernization of the checkpoint on the Armenian-Georgian border and the construction of high-voltage electric lines. Nalbandyan noted that active cooperation is developing in such areas as education, innovation, science and culture, including through such programs as Horizon 2020, Erasmus +, negotiations on Creative Europe projects and of the common aviation zone.
"I would like to note that the agreement between Armenia and the EU on a comprehensive and expanded partnership has been summarized and initialed, signing the agreement can be one of the most important achievements of the Brussels Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for November in Brussels, I would also like to note the importance of starting a dialogue on the liberalization of the visa regime between Armenia and the EU, which is one of the commitments set forth in the Declaration of the Riga Summit of the Eastern Partnership, which is very important from the point of view of strengthening contacts between people move ", - concluded Nalbandian.
