ArmInfo. From October 17 to January 17 in the National Museum of Iran, in Tehran, an exhibition of valuable artifacts from Armenia will open. The exhibition includes 103 artifacts that date from the 4th millennium to the 1st century BC. Some of the exhibits belong to the state of Urartu, which was located in the Armenian Highlands from the 8th to the 6th century BC, the Financial Tribune reported.
On October 3, these cultural monuments were taken to the National Museum of Iran. The name of this exposition is "Iran and Armenia: the memory of the kingdom". Particular attention in the exhibition will be given to those artifacts that relate to the times of the existence of Urartu - an ancient state located at Lake Van in Eastern Anatolia. The beginning of the history of Iran and Armenia refers precisely to the times of Urartu. Among the exhibits, including artifacts, which were found during excavations in Semnan and Gilan provinces. The event is part of a memorandum signed between the Organization of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Iran and the Ministry of Culture of Armenia.
