ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia Khachik Hakobyan received a delegation of the Czech Nature Protection Agency headed by Director Frantisek Pelc on 9 October. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Armenia Petr Mikiska.
According to the press service of Armenian Nature Protection Ministry, Deputy Minister noted the importance of the mission with which the group arrived in Armenia, which can greatly assist in the implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum signed between Armenia and the Czech Republic. The memorandum, as the deputy minister recalled, provides for the implementation of a number of actions for 2017-2018 aimed at protecting specially protected natural areas, preserving biodiversity and developing ecotourism.
Frantisek Pelc, in his turn, noted that the Czech Republic highly appreciates cooperation with Armenia and attaches importance to the agreements, especially in the sphere of nature protection.
According to the Czech diplomat, the working group headed by the head of the Czech Nature Protection Agency will visit the Zangezur Biosphere Complex and the Dilijan National Park, and they are expected to familiarize themselves with the protection regimes and management programs on the spot. their joint implementation.
