ArmInfo.Since September 15, water releases from Lake Sevan since September 15 have been discontinued, and in the short term there is no need for new releases. Minister of Nature Protection of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan stated this at a press conference on September 26.
He also noted that this year the water level in the lake was 3 cm lower than last year, but this is a result of too high a level of evaporation that was associated with hot weather and the ministry hopes that during the precipitation the necessary water level will be established. "We are also actively fighting the poaching of fish and crayfish in Lake Sevan," Minasyan said.
Summarizing the activities of the Ministry during his tenure as minister of nature protection, Minasyan stated that the main emphasis was put on fighting corruption and signing new contracts with foreign partners. According to him, the Ministry also intensified its work with the media and public organizations.
