ArmInfo.Armenian Science and Education Ministry's policy is aimed at creation in the country of powerful engineering and technical clusters, as well as clusters in the field of natural sciences. This was stated by the Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Levon Mkrtchyan.
In this sphere, according to him, Armenia needs the support of the corresponding centers of the Russian Federation. "It is planned to deepen relations with the Institute for Nuclear Research of Dubna, and also to implement a number of programs in nuclear physics and engineering specialties. "Cooperation between the pedagogical groups of the two countries is also important," he said, stressing that the Russian side is interested in Russian experience in the methodology of managing schools with small compacts. In her turn, the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Olga Vasilieva, noted that she and Minister Mkrtchyan discussed the issue of exchanging teachers between the two countries to improve the qualifications of Russian language teachers. According to the minister, more than 3,500 students study in the branches of Russian universities in Armenia. "During the meeting, the Presidents of our countries also paid attention to this fact, we must do everything possible to increase the number of students in Russian universities," she said, stressing that Armenia is interested in technical and IT specialists, and in Russia there is a large experience in training these specialists. "Russian universities should revise quotas for Armenian students and increase their number," she noted.
