ArmInfo. In Armenia, cases should be filed against influential political and economic figures involved in corrupt deals. This was stated in an interview with A1 + TV channel by US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills.
"However, since Karen Karapetyan was appointed Prime Minister of Armenia several criminal cases have been initiated against judges who have been caught in bribery, but this is not enough, those influential figures who are implicated in corrupt deals should be brought to justice," the ambassador said that the US wants to see the results of the struggle of the Armenian government against corruption.
"The financial assistance provided by the US to the Anti-Corruption Council of Armenia is formed from the funds of American taxpayers, and I, like no one else, are interested in spending it as efficiently as possible. Currently, the United States has provided only 10% of the envisaged assistance to the Anti- Corruption Council, we want to see results if we should continue our work together," the diplomat concluded.
