ArmInfo. Today, President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message on the occasion of the session organized by the Boris Mints Institute and the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University on the topic "Small Transition Economies: Local Responses to Common Challenges", wishing fruitful work and useful discussions.
Particularly, the message reads: "From the experience of the years of independence, Armenia is undoubtedly of interest to modern theoreticians of political science and economics." Armenia was the first among the post-Soviet countries to privatize agricultural land, re-equip and modernize the energy system, align the infrastructure with the canons of a market economy. Conditions of external and internal challenges, we managed to put the principles of democratic governance on a solid foundation, to create basements of civil society and liberal economy.
In all these areas we have accumulated a wealth of experience and are ready to share our achievements and lessons. In terms of the Constitution, we are now at a qualitatively new transitional stage: we are entering a more advanced parliamentary system of governance, which I am sure will ensure the irreversible democratic development of the Republic of Armenia.
The country's economy is also facing new challenges. We are now on the verge of a new stage in the inclusion of broad international business circles in our economic development projects. Based on the advanced legislation and the most relevant international experience, we are confident that we will be able to create the necessary tools for foreign investors, a reliable economic system and export opportunities.
