ArmInfo. The German and French embassies in Armenia initiated a prize "For the sake of equal opportunities", which will be presented for the first time on December 11 this year. French Ambassador to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier noted that the initiative is being realized in a tandem of German-French friendship, laid down by the Elysee Agreement of 1963.
"For more than 50 years, France and Germany remain committed to the taken course of interaction, which covers various areas.
One of the cornerstones of cooperation is the sphere of human rights protection, since we believe that this reality is of universal importance. In the society there are special expectations from this sphere. The purpose of the established award is to assess the contribution to the protection of human rights. It is no accident that this idea covers more and more countries. We decided that Armenia should also get the right to take part in this initiative, which is reaching the international level, "Charpentier said. He added that the prize will be held under the motto "In the name of equal opportunities".In turn, German Ambassador to Armenia Matthias Kiesler stated that the idea of establishing a prize in the republic belongs to the Ambassador of France to Armenia Jean-Francois Charpentier.
Individuals, organizations and individual projects, through which vulnerable groups in Armenia - women, children, disabled, can participate in the established award. The application form can be filled in on the websites of the German and French embassies in Armenia. Applications are accepted until October 31, 2017, then in November the jury (selected by the diplomatic departments of Germany and France in the RA) will choose the winner in the nomination. He will be one - the prize fund is 1000 euros. The prize will be awarded to the winner on December 11, "the ambassador said. At the same time he stated that no society is perfect and everywhere there are vulnerable layers, including in Germany. According to him, in this regard, the embassies of Germany and France decided to thank those who are helping the vulnerable segments of society in Armenia.
It should be noted that starting from 2010, the embassies of Germany and France in different countries of the world come forward with joint initiatives to help vulnerable segments of society.
