ArmInfo.Citizens of Russia can apply for an American nonimmigrant visa to the US Embassy in Armenia.
The US embassy in Armenia said in part: "In connection with the measures taken by the Russian Federation to limit the number of employees of the US diplomatic mission in Russia, it is possible that some Russian citizens will decide to apply for visas to the US Embassy in Armenia. Usually, an applicant is advised to apply for a visa at the place of residence, however, the US Consulate accepts applications from third- country nationals who are physically present in that country, but are not a resident of that country. Considering the above, people who are citizens of the Russian Federation can apply for non-immigrant visas to the US Embassy in Yerevan. Under US law, applicants must provide evidence of the right to permanent residence, which they do not intend to leave. Place of residence does not have to be the place of application for a visa." At the same time, the US embassy in Armenia warns that this process can be more complicated than the process of granting visas in Russia itself. To note, after the decision by Russia to deport about 750 American diplomats from the Russian Federation, starting August 23, 2017, the United States suspended the procedure for issuing nonimmigrant visas throughout Russia. The US Embassy in Russia in a widespread statement emphasizes that the procedure for issuing nonimmigrant visas will be renewed, but in a significantly reduced amount.
