ArmInfo.Working meeting of heads of the main operational directorates of CSTO General Staff is held in Belarus (Department of Strategic Planning) of the general staffs of armed forces of CSTO member states.
According to Belarus Defense Ministry press service, on August 23 - 24, under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, working meetings of the representatives of the armed forces of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan will be held in the course of which the discussion of the issues of coalition military development in CSTO format is planned. The issues of application of the Collective Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, organization of management and their comprehensive support will be considered as the main ones.
This event will be opened by the Chairman of CSTO Military Committee, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus, Major-General Oleg Belokonev, and Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov, the head of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
In this format, this event is held for the first time, at the initiative of Belarus, as the country presiding in CSTO this year. It is assumed that these meetings will become permanent status and will contribute to the further development of CSTO and the strengthening of the organization's image in the international arena.
