Analyst: Remaining in EEU and CSTO, Armenia has all the chances to maintain excellent relations with the EU, NATO and even Iran

ArmInfo.Remaining in the EEA and CSTO, Armenia has all the chances to maintain excellent relations with the EU, NATO and even Iran. The director of the Center for Regional Studies Richard Kirakosyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.

"I do not think that such a line in the politics of a small country can lead to some new tensions between the US and Russia, especially considering that they are mainly focused on US-Russian relations, and in such circumstances all calls for a choice between the West and Russia Are absolutely meaningless, Armenia, on the contrary, can at least at a minimum somehow bring together the positions of Moscow and Washington, thereby substantially increasing the level of its geopolitical functions," he said.

In this light, Kirakosyan notes the Armenian policy of non-alignment to NATO, flavored by the movement towards Europe in the form of the expected signing of a new Grand Treaty with the EU, as the most realistic and possible. The analyst noted the need to bring relations with Moscow to a horizontal level, since in the current vertical of relations Russia has much more benefits from Armenia than the latter from Russia. And then, according to his estimates, the United States does not play any role at all.
