ArmInfo. Employees of the Office of the Ombudsman of Armenia visited the citizen of Armenia Hrachya Harutyunyan, on the eve of being extradited from Russia to his homeland.
As the press service of the Ombudsman's office told ArmInfo, the office staff visited the Nubarashen UIU, where they had a separate conversation with Harutyunyan, and also studied the conditions of his detention. It should be noted that RA citizen Hrachya Harutyunyan sentenced to 6 years and 9 months of imprisonment for an accident in Russia, as a result of which 18 people died, was extradited to Armenia on the eve. Harutyunyan was extradited to Armenia on July 20, 2017 in accordance with the European Convention of 1983 on the transfer of convicts to imprisonment for further serving their sentence.
Recall that on July 13 in the area of Oznobishino village near Podolsk loaded with rubble KAMAZ, leaving the secondary road, crashed into the LiAZ bus, traveling from Podolsk to Kurilovo. From the impact, the bus broke into two parts, some of the passengers were littered with rubble from the body of the overturned truck. As a result of the accident, 18 people died, more than 40 received injuries of varying severity. He was charged under the article "violation of traffic rules, which caused by accident the death of two or more persons", which provides for up to seven years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to operate the vehicle for up to three years. The Russian court found Harutyunyan guilty and sentenced to 6 years 9 months in prison.
