The meeting began with a conversation between foreign ministers, and then continued in an expanded format. As the press service of the Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, the ministers noted with satisfaction the warm friendly relations formed between the two countries, mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, stressing the contribution of the small but active Armenian community of the UAE to this cause. The foreign ministers discussed a wide range of issues on further development of cooperation: expansion of the legal framework, deepening trade and economic relations, stimulating investment, etc. The interlocutors noted mutual visits, the presence of diplomatic missions in the capitals of the two states as contributing to the strengthening of cooperation, which, according to Nalbandian, is also promoted by the Consulate General of Armenia recently opened in Dubai. The ministers also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda. The Foreign Minister of the UAE presented his country's approaches to the latest impulses in the Arabian Peninsula. Nalbandian told the interlocutor on the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries to advance the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement, stressing that the co-chair countries, on behalf of the international community, have repeatedly noted the non-alternative peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict on the basis of norms and principles of international law: the non-use of force, Integrity, self-determination of peoples. Before the meeting Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahayan visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex, where he paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
