ArmInfo. As soon as possible, substantive, new, meaningful, concrete negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement must be resumed.
APA reports that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said this during the Cabinet meeting. "As a result of negotiations, Artsakh must be handed to Azerbaijan. This is our position. There is no other way out," Aliyev said.
At the same time, the Azerbaijani leader assured that the conditions put forward by Armenia in connection with the resumption of negotiations after last April's events did not lead to anything. "You know that after the April events, Armenia put forward several conditions for the resumption of the talks and openly announced them. Sooner or later they will return to the negotiating table. And it happened. Yesterday the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held. The negotiation process was resumed. The Azerbaijani side did not accept any conditions. This is our position, we always said that it should be so. This is also the position of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group. Negotiations were continued without any preconditions," the head of Azerbaijan noted. Aliyev also accused Armenia of initiating provocations, which resulted in increased pressure on the latter. According to him, confirmation of this is the terrorist act committed several years ago in the Armenian parliament, the aggravation of the situation at the front in 2014 after the talks in Paris. The Azerbaijani leader once again praised the strengthening of the country's military potential, assuring that new types of weapons and the most advanced equipment are being procured. "Today we are able to hit any target in Artsakh. But, despite this, Azerbaijan should increase its military potential even more. There is a need for this, and we have opportunities for this. We purchase all military equipment, we also produce this equipment in Azerbaijan. Two military factories started operating in Azerbaijan this year. Today, Azerbaijan not only provides weapons and ammunition to a large extent. At the same time, it exports them to other countries," Aliyev said.
