ArmInfo. In Brussels, on July 11, a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov was held late on July 11.
As the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo, the meeting was initiated by the co- chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Igor Popov, Stefan Visconti and Richard Hoagland. The meeting was also attended by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk.
The meeting continued discussions on the creation of appropriate conditions for the promotion of the negotiation process on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement.
Nalbandian stressed the need to stabilize the situation on the contact line of the troops and in this context noted the need to implement the agreements reached at the summits in Vienna and St. Petersburg.
The mediators asked the ministers to convey to their presidents the proposal to organize a summit at the highest level this year. It was agreed to hold the next meeting of Armenian and Azeri FMs in September this year in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
