ArmInfo. The tension on the contact line between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops remains. The head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia Movses Hakobyan stated this in a conversation with journalists in Yerevan on June 26.
"Daily tension persists. The advanced units fully control the situation on the front line," Hakobyan said.
He also was at a loss to say whether black clouds are actually gathering over Artsakh and the likelihood of a war is increasing, as the international analysts predict: "I can not say, as I did not read these analytical materials. The armed forces are doing their own analysis, which states that our armed forces can completely prevent the war and, if necessary, also organize defense." He also noted that last week the Azerbaijani Armed Forces conducted large-scale military exercises, after which the Armenian side closely observed and made appropriate conclusions.
At the same time, the chief of the Armenian General Staff refused to comment on the mass media information about his resignation. Hakobyan said that he was not aware of this.
