ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, after numerous media publications, has finally reacted to the scandal in Israel related to the diplomas of Armenian medical universities.
In this regard, the Ministry applied to the country's foreign affairs department in order to obtain the most detailed information from the Israeli side regarding the universities that, according to the Ministry of Health of Israel, issued fake diplomas and personalities of their recipients. It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Education and Science only now realized that such scandals cast a shadow not only on the education system of the country, but also on its international image as a whole. This is exactly what the agency mentioned in its statement. The ministry also promises that after receiving relevant information, it will start a full and multilateral study of the situation. And only on the eve of the request of ArmInfo correspondent to comment on the situation the press secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science Lusine Margaryan stated that the Ministry deals with global problems of the sphere and its legislative settlement, rather than separate educational institutions. From the words of the press secretary it was assumed that the international image of Armenia's education sphere is not the sphere of interests, authorities and competence of the Ministry of Education and Science. However, it's already good that the department realized a day later and realized that such scandals cast a shadow not only on the image of the country's educational system but on the international authority of Armenia as a whole.
To note, on the official website of the Ministry of Health of Israel, information was provided that the department does not guarantee the diplomas of Armenian medical universities and can not help finding a job for graduates of these educational institutions. The Ministry also appealed to the Police of the country in order to study the authenticity of the diplomas of Armenian universities.
Meanwhile, the Yerevan State Medical University told ArmInfo correspondent that the scandal does not concern this university. "We have never received any complaints regarding our foreign graduates, moreover, upon completion of their studies they successfully find employment in various countries of the world," the press secretary of YSMU, Shushan Danielyan, assured.
At the Armenian Medical University and the Merabian Medical University (both of them are private universities), the correspondent of ArmInfo was informed that since the establishment of these educational institutions they did not give diplomas to foreign students. In the same universities, they hinted that the scandal is connected with diplomas issued in another private university - the Haybusak University. However, the correspondent of ArmInfo was not able to receive a comment in this institution.
