Karen Karapetyan, at an extra meeting of the Parliament in connection with the presentation of a new Government program for 2017-2022, answering the question of opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan whether he is ready to assume the post of vice premier if Serzh Sargsyan changes his decision and in 2018 takes the post of head of the Cabinet ,said: "I am ready to continue to be Prime Minister."
Answering another question of Pashinyan whether the active Prime Minister is among the people who are currently persuading the Armenian President to take the post of Prime Minister in 2018, he said: "No, I do not belong to the number of these people." But I also do not know whether there are such people at all or not. " To note, earlier Serzh Sargsyan promised that after Constitutional reforms he would take the post of the Prime Minister. However, currently there are some talks that he possibly changed his mind.
