"We held meetings both in Baku and Armenia to restore political dialogue. We can state that by the results of this meeting, the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are for restoration of the dialogue", APA repots.
At the same time, the Russian mediator noted that the co-chairs have a deep sense of regret over the recent events on the contact line of the troops. The diplomat noted that he discussed the tension in recent days on the front line with the Azerbaijani president and defense minister. "We are very sorry about the cases of a serious violation of the ceasefire regime on the eve of the visit of the co-chairs to the region. We should do everything to prevent such events from happening again. We will do everything we can to reduce tension," the diplomat said. Touching on the last statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, circulated in May this year, Popov said it was addressed to both sides and the main message was aimed at reducing tensions along the contact line.
