ArmInfo. The Karabakh problem is indeed a very serious knot of rather bitter discussions in the confrontation in the international arena, but Russia is interested in shifting the process and maximally contributing to the conflict settlement. State Secretary Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin stated in an interview with haqqin.az.
"Yes, Russia is a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and is active in this trio. And how, if I am not mistaken, in 2013, the presidents of the three OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs stated that they are ready to contribute to the peaceful resolution of the conflict, but the main task to reach a settlement of the conflict lies on the shoulders of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia. We, for our part, will continue to work in this direction," the Russian diplomat said.
Referring to Russia's supply of missile systems Iskander, which in turn could affect the balance of power in the region, Karasin said in particular: "I think the balance is unshakable. We supply weapons to Armenia, but we also supply to Azerbaijan. It is taken into account that although Armenia is our CSTO ally, there is also such a notion as a responsible attitude to deliveries, and I think this is quite typical of the behavior of the Russian Federation."
