ArmInfo. Armenian National Assembly chairman Ara Babloyan, a few days after his entry into the new post, began structural reforms in the Parliament. Particularly, Babloyan told the parliamentarians at the first meeting of the newly formed NA Council that the National Assembly and people's representatives should proceed from the priorities and opportunities of the state in the future, first of all, to determine the number of staff members - assistants, experts, advisers to deputies.
As an example, Babloyan brought himself: "The biggest load today lies on me, as the NA chairman. I received a large staff as a 'heritage' - advisers, assistants, but today I told them, I will not work with you. I admit, it is difficult. Of the 22 employees of my staff, I left 6. You know what, we have to tighten our belts in accordance with our capabilities. If now, proceeding from the interests of our state, I do so, as these are our opportunities, I must ask my colleagues to follow my example. "- stated the chairman of the parliament while discussing in the Council the issue of the number of experts in parliamentary commissions.
People's representatives, in particular, suggested to increase the number of experts in the parliamentary commissions, based on the fact that some of them were unified, and so did the workload on the staff. As a result of the discussions, it was decided to increase the number of experts in the commissions on state and legal issues and on the protection of human rights, on health and social security issues and on economic issues by three. Two additional experts will provide the remaining 5 commissions, and the issue of experts of the commission on European integration still remains open.
