ArmInfo. Countries involved in Eurasian integration processes, have no single vision of EEU yet. Such an opinion was stated by Eurasian Expert Club member Ashot Yengoyan, the head of the Yerevan State University department of political sciences theory and history at the conference on European Integration for Russia and Armenia in geopolitical context: challenges and opportunities.
According to him, each of those countries accentuates only that side of integration providing one-hand preferences in this multilateral process. "But, whatever the economical preferences of EEU countries would be, there is a need today to find a joint ideological-political platform that should justify the attractiveness of EEU and lead the practical policies," he mentioned. As an example, he stated Armenia. " First, this weakens the intentions of our country to go deeper in integration processes. Next, such an explanation demonstrates only its weak points and states that this step was taken forcibly, due to the pressure of Russia.
And third, it gives only temporary effect and has no conceptual content," Yengoyan stressed, adding that Armenian foreign policy should be aimed at moving the society to classic liberal values, but through Russia and exactly with it. To mention, the conference was arranged by Integration and Development research-analytical organization and School of international relations of Yerevan State University, as well as by Eurasian Expert Club and national Fund of Social programs Support.
