ArmInfo. The spokesman for the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Pedro Agramunt, accused a scandal surrounding his boss, American billionaire George Soros and his organization, reports El Confidencial.
"Soros is to blame, those who accuse Agramunt get money from the financial shark. The organization ESI (which investigates corruption in PACE) and other Soros organizations are trying to destroy the Assembly, which is not inferior to the pressure of Soros and Armenia," he said.
On the eve, the Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) expressed a vote of censure in the head of the Assembly Pedro Agramunt. As stated the Bureau, from now on the speaker "is not allowed to make official trips, participate in meetings and make public statements on behalf of the assembly as its chairman." According to the representatives of the bureau, Agramunt "lost trust" of his colleagues. At the same time, they specified that the speaker did not apply for resignation. "He did not attend the meeting, which is chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly Roger Gale," the PACE headquarters reported. It should be noted that the reason for the impeachment of Agramunt was his visit to Syria as part of the Russian delegation. European parliamentarians accused him of complicity with the presidents of Russia and Syria, Vladimir Putin and Bashar Assad. Despite the fact that Agramunt repented of the deed and asked for forgiveness, this did not soften the position of his colleagues. Earlier, Agramunt was accused of corruption scandal involving Azerbaijani Parliamentarians. According to the materials leaked to the European media, Agramunt received bribes from the Azerbaijani establishment for many years to lobby the interests of Baku in the PACE.
