ArmInfo. Vice President of India Hamid Ansari and his delegation visited the memorial complex of the victims of the Armenian Genocide Tsitsernakaberd on April 25.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian and First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Yogeshwar Sangwan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute Hayk Demoyan accompanied high-ranking guests from India.
The Vice President of India laid a wreath at the Memorial and flowers to the Eternal Flame. In the Museum-Institute of the Armenian Genocide Ansari got acquainted with the details of the extermination of the Armenian people in the Ottoman Empire. In the Book of Sorrow, the Vice-President of India wrote: "This monument is a clear testament to the fact that Armenians have suffered from brutal violence, only by relying on the values of tolerance, we can hope for a peaceful and harmonious future."
Hamid Ansari and Edward Nalbandian were photographed against the backdrop of Ararat. Vice President of India also planted a fir in the Alley of Memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. To recall, Vice President of India Mohammad Hamid Ansari visited Armenia on April 24 with a two-day visit. Negotiations are planned with the country's top leadership around a wide range of issues. Ansari will also hold a meeting with students and professors of YSU. From Armenia, the vice-president of India will leave for Poland on April 26.
To note, the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India were established on August 31, 1992.
