ArmInfo.The Constitutional Court of Armenia started considering the suit "Armenian National Congress - People's Party of Armenia" on revision of the results of the parliamentary elections on April 2.
ANC Deputy Chairman Levon Zurabyan presented the suit. The reason for the claim, according to the submitting party, was numerous violations of electoral legislation during the electoral process, which affected the election results, in particular, the bribery of voters, the widespread use of administrative resources and pressure.
The Constitutional Court will issue its verdict on the suit until April 29.
To note, international observers generally appreciated the course of the parliamentary elections in Armenia, nevertheless pointing the information about the massive bribery of voters and the use of administrative pressure. On April 2, Armenia held elections to the National Assembly of the sixth convocation. Five parties and four blocs participated. This is the first nationwide election in the country after the adoption of the constitutional reforms of 2015, providing for the transition to a parliamentary form of government after the expiration of the term of office of the head of state in 2018. The balance of forces turned out to be as follows: RPA - 771.247 votes or 49.12%, Tsarukyan - 428.965 or 27.32%, "Elk" bloc - 122.049 or 7.77%, ARFD - 103.173 or 6.57%. "Armenian Revival" - 58.277 or 3.71%, ORO - 32.504 or 2.07%, "Congress- PPA" - 25.975 or 1.65%, "Free Democrats" - 14.746 or 0.9%, the Communist Party - 11.745 or 0.75%. Thus, the ruling party of the RPA will receive 58 mandates, "Tsarukyan" - 30, "Elk" - 9, ARF-7.
