ArmInfo. In France, large-scale events were held dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire. Thus, the Liturgy was served in the Notre Dame Cathedral, and at the Arc de Triomphe the military orchestra of France sang the song of Erebuni-Yerevan.
The leader of the presidential race, Emmanuel Macron, laid flowers at the monument to Komitas in Paris. He assured that in case of his election, the President will do everything possible to international recognition and condemnation of the Genocide and compensation for the consequences of this crime. He also promised to fight the policy of denying the Armenian Genocide. As for the Karabakh issue, Macron promised, if elected, to exert maximum efforts for a full-fledged, final and pro-Armenian settlement of the conflict, despite the fact that France alone, he said, cannot solve this problem.
