ArmInfo. The agreement, signed by the heads of the CSTO member countries, clearly defines the tasks and functions of the Organization, and appointed to the post of General Secretary Yuri Khachaturov will perform these functions. On April 24, after laying flowers at the Tsitsernakaberd memorial to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Movses Hakobyan stated, commenting on the appointment of Yuri Khachaturov to the post of Secretary General of the CSTO.
According to him, the persons appointed to this post cannot make any changes in the programs of the Organization.
Touching upon the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border and the confrontation line of the troops, Hakobyan said that the number of violations last night did not increase much, but the situation is under control.
To the journalists' notion that last year's April War showed that the funds allocated to the army do not serve their purposes, but go to enrich the generals, Hakobyan stated that he does not share this view. "I do not agree with this statement, it's just your assessment. The assessment of the readiness of the Armed Forces is given by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country, which he did. I do not deal with these issues, and do not count who and how, and how much has been enriched. I am interested in more important issues, I follow the front line and the troops," Hakobyan summed up.
To note, after the "four-day" April War it became known that the armament of the 70s-80s is on the balance of the Armed Forces of Armenia, and the funds sent to the army have been squandered.
