ArmInfo.Artsakh MFA spread the information related to the anniversary of ceasefire in Artsakh, after Azerbaijani large-scaled aggression against Naghorno Karabakh.
"Today is a year since the moment of de-escalation of military aggression started by Azerbaijan against Artsakh to forceful settlement of Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict. On the night of April 1 to 2 of 2016, roughly violating ceasefire regime, Azerbaijani armed forces started large-scale attack along the boundary using hard weaponry, artillery arm and aviation. Only suffering measurable losses in live force and technique, Azerbaijan was forced to request Russia to stop military actions on April 5 2016. Accompanied with big number of humanitarian regional right and military crimes, April aggression of Azerbaijan became a serious challenge to regional peace and safety and caused big deal harm to negotiation process on Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement within mediate efforts of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs" NK MFA statement reads.
At that, the department notes that during a year passed from the day of military actions, co-chairmen made efforts on providing conditions for total recovery of negotiation process. Stepanakert stresses that Artsakh shows support to OSCE MG co-chairs statements on the necessity to observe in total extent the agreement on ceasefire of May 12 1994, practical implementation of agreement from February 6 1995 on strengthening the regime of ceasefire, as well as the implementation reached in Vienna (May 16 2016) and Saint-Petersburg (June 20 2016), agreements on implementing investigation mechanisms of incidents and increasing chances of OSCE personal representative's office.
"Azerbaijan not only rejects these purposes, but also denies any initiatives directed to rule out the opportunities of military actions. Moreover, during this period Azerbaijan does not leave the attempts to transfer logic of confrontation in the sphere of economy, culture and even human contacts. Demonstrating total unwillingness to reach talks via peaceful settlement of the conflict, Azerbaijani authorities threaten to unleash another war. Consequentially increasing the grade of tense at the contact line of Artsakh and Azerbaijani armed forces and continuing the policy of confrontation and enmity, Baku purposefully deepens the distrust between the sides and tends to make Azerbaijani-Karabakh issue settlement process the hostage of its destructive policy and maximalist demands", NK MFA statement reads.
