ArmInfo. From Freedom Square in Yerevan, a peace procession was launched, which organized the pre-electoral bloc "Congress-People's Party".
Levon Zurabyan, a candidate from the bloc, said that a year ago the Armenian National Congress and the People's Party had managed to hold a small revolution reaching a consensus with the authorities in the 4 + 4 + 4 format.
"We have achieved the publication of lists of voted citizens, the broadcasting of the entire electoral process, including the counting of votes, as well as the introduction of mechanisms for the identification of voters." As a result of this, falsifications in the polling stations have become impossible. "Now the authorities will try to influence the election results through pressures and bribery, the society should stop such attempts and conduct a change of power," he said. Zurabyan also called on voters to vote for the bloc he represents.
Stepan Demirchyan, a candidate from the bloc and leader of the People's Party, said that normalization of relations with neighboring countries and solution of problems inside Armenia are necessary for stable development of the country. "The country needs fair elections, the eradication of corruption, the disclosure of cases on the First March events and the terrorist attack on October 27. The government, as a result of which the level of poverty and migration has increased, cannot do this, corruption is flourishing, and injustice and impunity are everywhere. And now the regime is manipulating the Karabakh process to contain the authorities, "he stressed. In his opinion, the forthcoming elections are a good chance to change the situation in the country and the Armenian society should not miss it.
