ArmInfo.Armen Martirosyan, a lawmaker candidate of Ohanyan- Raffi-Oskanian bloc is sure that the arrest of alliance supporter and  Ex-Defense Minister of Artsakh  Samvel Babayan is another provocation of  domestic authorities 

"Certainly this  is  a political persecution directed against our  bloc. The authorities were convinced that the number of our  supporters is increasing day by day and decided to use this kind of  provocation, considering Babayan's resources and his influence," he  stressed, not excluding the possibility of other confederates or the  representatives of the bloc. "Probably  Igla is smaller than  tank  muzzle and that is why this kind of magical method was  elected,"Martirosyan noted, adding that the bloc did not plan any pre  electoral crushes."The authorities are so scared that they do not see  serious menace in every political force, and the last pressures in  our bloc witness that we are the main rivals of the Republican Party  of Armenia," he pointed out.

According to him it is not occasional also that Babayan undergoes  this kind of pressure for his position on Karabakh settlement  question. "During the pre electoral period an issue is raised of  giving up  the territories, while  Babayan has more tough position on  this topic," he stated.

To note, the National Security Service of Armenia stated that  Babayan's arrest was carried out in the framework of the case of  illegal importation of the Igla MANPADS from Georgia to Armenia. The  press service of the National Security Service stated that within the  framework of this case, 3 people were arrested and Babayan. "As a  result of operational-search activities, reliable data was obtained  that persons engaged in the delivery and acquisition of components of  the anti- aircraft missile system acted at the behest and order of  Babayan", the report reads. In connection with the incident in  Djrarat, as a result of which five people were injured earlier, NKR  ex-defense minister and 

Oganyan-Raffi-Oskanian alliance member Samvel Babayan advised the  ruling Republican Party of Armenia to refrain from actions directed  against the alliance. Babayan also noted that if this continues, it  will reach bloodshed. "I know that the other side will not step back,  because they need to protect themself somehow", Babayan said.
