ArmInfo.OSCE Minsk Group co chairs, possessing international mediation mandate for Karabakh Conflict settlement, developed direct proposals for the problem solution based on UN objectives clearly stating the principles of nations self determination right and nations parity norms.
This was stetd by Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in his interview to Regional Post. The Minister mentioned that the actuality of this principle has been accentuated also by independent UN experts on Democracy improvement and fair international norms. "Particularly, the fact was emphasized that many conflicts rise because of the nations self determination principle violation," Nalbandyan mentioned accentuating the need of support of international entities, and especially UN, to the efforts of Minsk mediators.
Referring to the activities of Armenia at International platforms, and particularly at UN, the Minister accentuated that the Republic has always been actively involved in different international projects, particularly, in peace missions, refugees support programs, and appears as an active actor in the field of the struggle against humanity crimes. "We were the initiators of numerous resolutions at different international entities in respect to prevention of new genocides," Nalbandyan accentuated. He mentioned that the world today is not guaranteed of new genocides, bringing the example of ISIS. In April 2016, Azerbaijan initiated an aggression against Nagorno Karabakh, using the methods of ISIS, applying tortures to civil population and military servicemen of Artsakh," the Minister stated.
