ArmInfo. "Sasna Tsrer" member and Artsakh war veteran Pavlik Manukyan called on the Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan to allow burying Artur Sargsyan in "Yerablur".
"I hope, taking into consideration my modest contribution in Artsakh war I will be honored to be buried in "Yerablur". Therefore, I ask them to allow to bury Artur Sargsyan there were an area will be allocated for me", is noted in the latter of Manukyan.
Yesterday, the Defense Ministry of Armenian stated that Sargsyan can not be buried in "Yerablur", as there are no documented evidences of his participation in Artsakh war. Moreover, the Ministry stressed that he was a serviceman in Soviet Army, where he suffered a physical disability caused by an illness.
To note, a group of civil activists demanded the Government to bury Sargsyan in pantheon "Yerablur". During last days, the activists held marches with such demands to the Governmental building. During last two days, between the activists and law enforcement bodies hassles were registered. Nevertheless, the Government did not meet the demands. The Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan stated that pantheon "Yerablur" is a military graveyard and it is inappropriate to politicize it.
To recall, Arthur Sargsyan was accused of promoting the activities of the group "Sasna Tsrer". Sargsyan was arrested and then released under a subscription, as he suffered from a number of serious diseases incompatible with his being under arrest. However, on 9 February he was arrested again because of violation of the conditions of execution of the preventive measure. After that, Sargsyan went on a hunger strike, his health deteriorated every day. On March 16, he was taken to the clinic in extremely serious condition.
